Arthur S. Wilson

Hoosick – Arthur S. Wilson, 84, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, surrounded by family and friends. He had formerly resided in Walloomsac, NY, and was the husband of Catherine M. Wilson, who passed away on September 7, 2009.
Born on November 10, 1925, in Johnsonville, NY, Art was the son of the late George E. Wilson Sr. and Mary E. Bryant. He attended school in Salem, NY. Art was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was a self-employed logging truck driver and later worked for the Town of Hoosick Highway Department until retiring in the late 1980s. Art enjoyed camping with his wife, farming, haying and caring for animals.
Survivors include his sons, Stephen A. Wilson Sr. of North Hoosick, NY, Richard A. Wilson of Glens Falls, NY, and Scott E. Wilson and his fiancé Maureen Hulihan of Shaftsbury, VT, his sister, Mary E. Harrington of East Hoosick, NY, his brother, George E. Wilson Jr. of North Hoosick, his half brothers, Clinton O. Wilson Sr. of North Hoosick and Thomas D. Wilson of White Creek, NY, four grandchildren, Stephanie M. Becker and husband Jeremy of Jeffersonville, VT, Stephen A. Wilson Jr. of North Petersburgh, NY, Sheena A. Wilson of Clifton Park, NY, and Brian R. Wilson of Clifton Park, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends, James Toohey, Mike and Dottie Marcoux and Sharon and Fred Schmigel. Art is pre-deceased by a grandson, William Wilson, and a brother, Joseph Bryant.
Funeral services are Thursday at 8 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be later in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 – 8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hoosick Falls Health Center, Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the North Hoosick Fire Dept. through the funeral home.
