Dorothy A. Watson

Hoosick Falls – Dorothy A. Watson died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. She had resided on Wall Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, and formerly on Tory Hill Road in Hoosick, NY. She was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Jackson) Gibbons.
Dorothy graduated from school in Hoosick Falls and was a homemaker all of her life. She was also a certified machinist. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, animals, the outdoors and helping children.
Survivors include her daughter, Irene Nesbitt, and her sons, Christopher Watson and Henry Miller, all of Hoosick Falls, her sisters, Charlotte Meader of Schuylerville, NY, Ruth Brundige of Johnsonville, NY, Helen Decota of Salem, NY, and Ann Danaher of Schuylerville, and a brother, Charles Williams of Redmond, OR. She is also survived by four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many others who thought of her as grandmother. Dorothy is pre-deceased by two brothers, William Gibbons Jr. and Robert Gibbons.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 10, at 7 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be later in the spring at the Millertown Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 pm until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
