Pastor Michael Benoit welcomed over sixty people to the third HACA Lenten Luncheon on Wednesday. The luncheons, a long standing HACA tradition, are held at the First Baptist Church in Hoosick Falls every Wednesday of Lent from noon to 1 pm. The program includes prayers, hymns, a homily, soup and sandwiches. Donations collected at the luncheon benefit the HACA Food Closet. This year, overall, donations to the Closet have been down, but the requests for food help have increased.

This week’s Luncheon speaker was Rev. Lorrie Lyons of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She spoke on Mark 5:1-20, the healing of the Gerasene Demoniac.
In his welcome, Pastor Benoit reminded everyone that if school is closed on a Wednesday because of bad weather, there will be no luncheon that day. It is hoped that the weather will be good for the next four Wednesdays. Everyone is welcome to attend.
