Margaret L. Lombard

Stephentown – Margaret L. “Marge” Lombard, 81, of Knapp Road, Stephentown, NY, died on Friday, February 26, 2010, at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Hempstead, LI, on Valentine’s Day, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise Patti Bollten. She was the loving wife of the late George B. Lombard, Sr. She attended the Stephentown Federated Church.
Marge was educated on Long Island. She lived in Schenectady, NY, while she and her late husband worked for General Electric. They moved to Stephentown in 1957 and built the Valley View Restaurant and Motel. Upon her husband George’s death, she converted the restaurant to apartments, which she owned until her retirement in 2006. She was a former member of the Unity Lodge #9 Eastern Star in New Lebanon, NY, and bowled at the former Lar-A-Bowl. Marge enjoyed crocheting and mowing her lawn. She especially loved watching her grandchildren grow.
Survivors include her children, George B. Lombard, Jr. and Marsha L. and husband Jeff Henderson, all of Stephentown, a brother, Henry and wife Betty Bollten of Sarasota, FL, a brother-in-law, Robert Fulton of Middleburg, NY, a sister-in-law, Jean Bollten of Schenectady, grandchildren, Lindsay Janssen and Amy Lombard and Hunter and Harley Henderson, along with many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Evelyn Fulton and John Bollten, Jr.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Garfield Cemetery in Stephentown. Memorial contributions would be appreciated and sent to the Stephentown Rescue Squad in loving memory of Margaret L. Lombard. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home of Stephentown.
