The Rensselaer Land Trust is offering a Moose track hike in Berlin on Saturday, March 13. Sightings of moose on the Rensselaer Plateau have been on the increase in recent years. Kate Hubbs of The Nature Conservancy will lead a search for signs of moose at the Capital District Wildlife Management Area in Berlin near the Cherry Plain State Park.
Meet at the kiosk just outside the entrance to Cherry Plain State Park. For directions, go to http://nysparks.state.ny.us/parks/173/getting-there.aspx. If snow cover allows, this will be a snowshoe hike. Participants must supply their own snowshoes. If there is not enough snow for snowshoeing, we will hike.
For further information, contact Kate Hubbs at 518-674-2069 or 690-7864 or khubbs@tnc.org
The Rensselaer Land Trust is the only not-for-profit land trust primarily dedicated to the preservation of natural spaces in Rensselaer County, especially land that protects sources of drinking water, areas that serve as natural habitats for wildlife and land that maintains the scenic rural character of the community.
