All Saints Church To Host “Lessons from Africa”

April 9, 2010 By eastwickpress

Last year, as a newly ordained Episcopal Deacon, Reverend Frank Lockwood traveled to Nigeria. Like so many who embark on mission work, he would find the experience profoundly moving and rich in life lessons. On Saturday evening, April 10, at 5 pm he will share some of his insights with our community at the Hoosick Grange on Hill Road, Hoosick. This presentation is free.
Those who have had the opportunity to hear him preach know that Frank Lockwood is a truly gifted communicator – eloquently plain spoken, practical but highly spiritual, earthy yet uplifting.

Reverend Frank Lockwood

All Saints Church is delighted to welcome back its friend Deacon Frank, and the parish is especially pleased to invite the community to come and be a part of this special evening. Beginning at 5 pm, the parish will host a pot luck supper. Feel free to bring a dish to share or just bring your appetite; there is always plenty of food at an All Saints pot luck! Immediately afterward, Rev. Lockwood will talk about his “Lessons from Africa.” With the aid of a PowerPoint presentation, he will speak about Vision – learning to act on what is revealed to us, Passion – acknowledging our most fervent emotions and making use of them under Christ and Relationships – balancing our own needs with the needs of others and meeting each other through Christ’s promise for us.
Nourish your body and your spirit. Bring your friends and neighbors for an evening of food, fellowship and inspiration. All are welcome! For more information, call Ingrid Schaaphok at 518-369-1689 or visit www.AllSaintsHoosick.org.
