Anthony J. Yurewitch Jr.

Hoosick Falls – Anthony J. Yurewitch Jr., 93, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. He had resided in Clifton Park, NY, and was the husband of the late Marietta (Baker) Yurewitch, who died several years ago.
Born on September 11, 1916, in Hoosick Falls, NY, Anthony was the son of the late Anthony J. Sr. and Anna (Walad) Yurewitch. He attended schools in Hoosick Falls. Anthony was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1942 to 1945. He was employed at the Specialty Company in Hoosick Falls for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1978. Anthony and his wife Marietta lived in Hoosick Falls for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Siemers of Clifton Park, sons William Yurewitch of East Hoosick, NY, and Robert Yurewitch of Clifton Park. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Friday, April 30, at 12:30 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 pm from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
