Carl J. Kempf Jr.

Hoosick Falls – Carl J. Kempf Jr., 66, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He had resided on Content Farm Road in Cambridge, NY, with his wife of 39 years, Judith (Castle) Kempf.
Born on November 20, 1943, in Hoosick Falls, NY, Carl was the son of the late Carl J. Kempf Sr. and Olga (Ruditis) Kempf. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls in 1961 and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1965. Carl was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Since his retirement, he enjoyed Florida winters near the ocean and summers at the Kempf camp on School House Pond in Rhode Island.
Survivors include his wife Judith, his son Carl J. Kempf III and wife Lori of Hoosick Falls, his daughter, Katherine Nicole Sparks and husband William of Hoosick Falls, sisters, Lois Jean O’Keefe and husband Paul of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, and Kathleen Bachus and husband Ned of Philadelphia, PA, and grandchildren, Jonathan and Mathew Kempf and Jacob, Andrew and Ryan Sparks.
Committal services were Wednesday, April 28, at 11 am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. There were no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through the funeral home.
