Put your library fines to work for the community. This year National Library Week is April 12-17. During this time, the New Lebanon Library will exchange food for fines. Fines for overdue materials, regardless of the amount, will be cleared from your record at a rate of one fine for one food item donated. Only overdue items – not lost or damaged items – are eligible for the exchange.
Unopened and unexpired cans, jars, boxed and packaged foods are welcome. Perishable items cannot be accepted. All food donations will be forwarded to Charlie’s Pantry for distribution to needy families in and around New Lebanon.
So celebrate National Library Week by clearing your conscience and benefiting your community at the same time.
