HFCS Battle Of The Belts

April 30, 2010 By eastwickpress

Hoosick Falls Central School recently held the Fourth Annual “Battle of the Belts.” Grades 7 to 12 competed on a beautiful day to see who would be crowned this year’s winners.  Winning for the third consecutive year were members of the Class of 2010.  This year is was seniors Taylor Bellemare, Adam Ferrannini, Jenna Priore and Melody Mentiply.
The Youth Summit Team had been awarded a grant from the Sean’s Run Presented By First Niagara Foundation to conduct the “battle” at the high school and to bring a group of students to Sean’s Run in Chatham on Sunday, April 25.  Sean French was a Chatham High School track and field standout who was killed in a DWI accident.  Sean was not wearing a seat belt.  HFCS students enjoy the competition every year while learning a very important lesson… seat belts save lives.
