Hoosick Falls Youth Basketball Has Successful Season

The Hoosick Area Youth Center & Community Coalition youth travel basketball program participated in the Greylock, Peru Challenge, Glens Falls Super Hooper Classic, Hudson Falls Winter Frenzy, Lake George Holiday Inn Classic and the St. Anne’s Shooters basketball tournaments. The travel teams are made up of boys and girls in grades 5 though 9.
The HAYC3 travel program is an extension of the Youth Center k-8 boys and girls program which runs from November to February. The travel program participated in eight tournaments by the time it ended in March.
The Hoosick Falls squads had tremendous results. The seventh grade boys defended their title in the Hudson Falls Winter Frenzy beating Glens Falls to win the title for the second year in a row. Other fine showings included the fifth grade boys’ fourth place finish in Hudson Falls. The sixth grade boys finished third in Hudson Falls. Beside their championship in Hudson Falls the seventh grade boys got second place in Greylock. The eighth grade boys finished third in Lake George while the eighth grade girls lost in the semi-finals of the Super Hooper in Glens Falls to finish third. The ninth grade boys were beaten in the finals of the Lake George Holiday Inn Classic by Queensbury in a close game, 53-50.
