ERC Celebrates Earth Day

May 7, 2010 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
On Saturday, May 1, the ERC Warehouse on Route 22 was abuzz with Earth Day activities. Youngsters were making craft projects from recycled materials and Beatrice Green the Recycling Queen encouraged visitors to “remember the three Rs, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” There were free raffle items and plenty of lovely “gently used” items for sale.
Outside the llamas, owned by Howard and Jessica Steller of Misty Maples Farm in North Hoosick were the hit of the day. Howard Steller said the animals are very friendly, social, calm and easily trained. They like to be together in a herd. They can be used as a pack animal or to pull a cart. They are shorn like sheep and their wool is spins easily into beautiful yarn.
