Estella C. Larson

Buskirk – Estella C. Larson, 94, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where she had resided since 2004. She formerly resided on River Road in Buskirk, NY, and was the wife of the late James Larson Sr., who passed away in 1999.
Born on February 22, 1916, in Leicester, MA, Estella was the daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (Jordan) Goulding. She graduated from Leicester High School and the University of Massachusetts. Estella also attended Boston University. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Montgomery Ward Department Store in Menands, NY, until retiring in 1975. After retiring, Estella spent her time at home with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Niquette of Buskirk, two sons, James A. Larson Jr. of Buskirk and Leonard Larson and wife Sharlene of Theodosia, MO, eight grandchildren, Lorry Foster of Eagle Bridge, NY, Cindy Niquette of North Hoosick, NY, James Larson III of Hoosick Falls, NY, Rhonda Wilmot of Buskirk, Leonard George Larson of Iowa, Thomas Larson of Missouri, Kathy Kvinlaug of Eagle Bridge and Jonathan Larson of Hoosick Falls, eighteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Estella is pre-deceased by a daughter, Susan DeCelle.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 22, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Island Hill Cemetery in Buskirk. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Health Center or Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
