Grafton Peace Pagoda Celebrates Flower Festival

May 7, 2010 By eastwickpress

The Flower Festival celebrating the Birth of the Buddha is on Sunday, May 9, and the public is invited. There are no charges; the event is free.
Alan W. White will perform traditional drumming from the Cayuga Nation. He will also give an update on the nuclear waste situation at West Valley Site.
Stories From The Road
The Peace Walkers have just completed a 700 mile walk to the  United Nations Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty talks.
Yoav Elinevsky, Former member of the Israeli army who is now dedicated to striving for peace in the Middle East, will speak. There will be a traditional Hindu Dance and a pot luck lunch.
The Peace Pagoda offers you this opportunity to welcome the spring offered to us by nature and the spring of a new era in America. This is a time to express love and appreciation and to honor each other and the coming spring.  Please consider this opportunity as you plan for this beautiful celebration. The Peace Pagoda offers a simple pot latch (Native American traditional celebration feast) after the ceremony.  Please consider bringing your own dishes to cut down on the wasteful use of disposables and to step away from consumerism.  We also welcome your contribution of home made, healthy food prepared with the intention of honoring each other and the earth.
Nipponzan Myohoji, Grafton Peace Pagoda, 87 Crandall Road, Petersburgh. For information call 518-658-9301(between 8 am and 5 pm).
Especially in this troubled time, come celebrate the birth of Buddha, the new
life of spring and hope with flowers and prayer for world peace.  This turning
point, a most difficult  time, is also an awakening time.
