The mood at the Hoosick Falls School Board meeting Tuesday was celebratory after the voters of the Hoosick Falls School District passed the budget by a margin of better than 2 to 1. The tally was 528 yes to 224 no. The bus purchase proposition passed by a vote of 496 to 254. The Capital Reserve Fund proposition passed by a vote of 466 to 273.
School Superintendent Ken Facin said, “I couldn’t be more elated.” He also thanked the public for their support and promised rededicated effort to making improvements at the school. School Board President David Sutton was even more brief. He said with great feeling, “Yippee!”
Ferrannini, Skott And Wilwol Elected To BOE
In the race for three School Board positions, Rick Ferrannini was elected and Don Skott and Dwain Wilwol were re-elected. Former School Board Member Greg Laurin, with the lowest vote total of the four candidates on the ballot, did not get a seat. Ferrannini received the most votes with 579. Skott received 514 votes, Wilwol 457 and Laurin 343.
