Letter to the Editor,
I remember years ago, walking on a street in New York City and seeing a well dressed woman picking up litter. A passerby commented on her noble act, and she said “This is my home; I want it to be clean.” This statement has always stuck with me.
Our town is our home, and it is up to each individual to help keep it clean. I often take a bag with me on my morning walk to pick up the debris on the road (by the way, someone who lives or drives on my road has a serious Twisted Tea addiction!), and I could do this daily as there is always new litter.
So let’s all join The Seventh Day Baptist Church on May 29 (rain date May 30) for Clean Up Day in Berlin and let’s try to make everyday Clean Up Day in our town – our home.
