Letter To The Editor – What Confusion?

May 14, 2010 By eastwickpress

To the Editor:
I read with amusement Gina Goodermote’s Letter of May 7 and her pronounced faith in the Gregory Administration and the Zwack BOE leadership.  She states that “information given to the Community has been fiction and or the truth distorted.”  Later she includes my name in her litany of offenders, so I presume her comment was, in part directed, to me.  And she appears insulted by a Powerpoint® presentation I gave to the Board at the April BOE meeting.  My favorite quote from her letter was “I guess I can understand the reasoning behind this; however, it just confuses everyone.”  What’s the confusion?  That I assumed the Administration’s 5 year plan, which she supported as a Board member.  That state aid budget cuts are likely to continue into the future. I think the public fully understands a potential $10 million cumulative revenue shortfall by 2015, the potential negative adjustments to the 5 year plan and her unwillingness to express to the community that budget deficits are likely to persist over and above the 20% rise in property taxes she is already supporting in the Administration’s 5 year plan.
