An early morning fire ripped through a Poestenkill home at 4 Ott St. Multiple fire companies were called to the scene to either battle the blaze or transport water from the Poestenkill Fire Department to the scene. Three or four other companies, as far away as Defreestville and Center Brunswick, were put on stand-by. The water had to be transported by truck because the street is currently under construction for the installation of new fire hydrants. The hydrant installation will be continuing for the next three weeks.
