The summer concert season will begin a week early this year with a special presentation on June 30 by the Hoosick Falls Big Band, the Stardusters. Show time is 7:30 pm, and the program will last, as all band concerts do, until 9 pm. The program will consist of big band style music from all eras and will feature local vocal soloists also.
The band was started by Cortland Cottrell (d) in 1975 with a premier performance at the school that year. Local band leader Bill Gaillard has kept the band going with Bill Cottrell (Cort’s Son) as lead trumpeter. The Community band concerts begin on Wednesday, July 7, and continue through August 25. Concert time is 7:30 pm. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy music, fellowship and good food prepared by local organizations.
