On Sunday, June 6, the Hoosick Falls Country Club will celebrate its 100th Anniversary from 2 to 4 pm. The public is cordially invited to this event. There will be refreshments and music by The Brewsters. A presentation will be made at 2:30 pm.
The scenic challenging course was established in April 1910 on 40 acres of land donated by Walter A. Wood. Eight hundred dollars was allotted for construction of the links, tennis court and clubhouse. The building cost was $650 of that $800.

According to the first book of minutes, which Terri Barber refers to as “the bible,” there was a $5 initiation fee to join the Country Club. Annual dues were $25 for an active member. A single member fee was $10, boys under 21 paid $5. Family membership was $15. Women were associate members and were assessed the $5 initiation fee and $25 to be active members, though they were only allowed on the course at certain times on certain days.
A few names listed as members of the original Board of Governors includes Walter A. Wood, Jr., Danforth Geer, MC Milliman, Willis E. Heaton, Mr. Thorpe and Dr. Cahill.
Original membership was 42. Today there are over 150 members. The original building has been replaced. There is no more tennis court, and golf carts are readily available for those so inclined. Membership fees, of course, have also increased over the years.
