The Lebanon Valley Farmers Market will open Sunday, June 13, from 10 am to 2 pm on Routes 20 and 22 (501 Route 20) in the center of town. It is a producer only market offering locally grown produce, meats, cheese, bread and hand crafted goods.
Some participating vendors are Hand Hollow Farm offering organically grown produce and free range eggs, Our Daily Bread of Chatham selling artisan breads and pastries, Angel’s Trumpet offering flowers, herbs and starter plants, The Abode of the Message and Liz McIlvaine selling homemade bags, maple syrup and cookbooks, Willowtree Organic Farm offering produce such as asparagus, beans and many varieties of garlic and Black Queen Angus Farm selling grass-fed beef and pastured pork.
The market runs Sundays through October, rain or shine. It will accept WIC vouchers, senior vouchers and FMNP vouchers and soon EBT credit and debit cards. Mark your calendars for the official opening July 4 with festivities.
Are you interested in becoming a vendor? The rate for the full season (20 weeks) is $200; half-season (10 weeks) is $110; weekly rates are $20 per 10 x 10 space. The market will also offer a community table to farmers with few items or lacking sales staff.
Join Friends of the Market, a volunteer group organized to help make this project a success. Friends can sign up to volunteer on specific Sundays at the kids craft table or to sell wares at the community table, help publicize the market or support special events.
