Wealthy Jane Cushing

Berlin – Wealthy Jane Jones Cushing, 67, of Route 22, Berlin, NY, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 14, 1942, in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Frank Jay and Clara “Honey” Goodermote Jones. She was the loving wife of Calvin H. Cushing, whom she married on September 4, 1993.
A lifelong resident of the area, Wealthy Jane was a 1961 graduate of Berlin Central High School. She was a homemaker in her early years and sold Avon to local residents for over 20 years. As her daughters grew, she worked as a teacher’s aide for over 10 years in the Berlin Central High School. More recently, she worked at the Stewart’s on Route 7 and 22 in Hoosick. She also cared for her mom in later years until her mom’s death. She enjoyed camping and social gatherings. Her greatest love was spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Calvin, her daughters, Michelle A. and husband Marc Daigle of Clifton Park, NY, and Melissa A. and husband James Signorelli, her sister, Katherine M. Cinney and David Carter of Berlin, her step-children, Amanda M. Lawrence of Townsend, VT, and Ryan C. Cushing of Springfield, VT, her five grandchildren, Erica and Kimberly Daigle and Karah, Anthony and Gabrielle Signorelli, her great-grandson, Jacob Grenci, and her two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Kevin Goyette, along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, on Sunday, June 6, from 11 am to 1 pm for visitation. At 1 pm a Memorial Service celebrating Wealthy Jane Cushing’s life took place. Burial was in the Meadowlawn Cemetery. A gathering followed at the home of Tara Fisher in Berlin.
