HFCS Wrestling Coach Chris Marsh Recognized

July 30, 2010 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
Just before the close of the school year, during the seventh grade outing at the Ken Baker Sports Complex, Hoosick Falls Central School Superintendent Ken Facin, Athletic Coordinator Mike Lilac and Landon Nelson presented Chris Marsh with a plaque recognizing his years of service and dedication as the HFCS Wresting Coach, ending with “We Thank You.” Marsh has been coaching wrestling, off and on, for 15 years. Besides coaching at HFCS, he has also coached at LaSalle. Facin said Marsh was instrumental in setting up a new wrestling room at school and giving the team a home of their own. The new weight room was critically important to the team and the entire sports program, he said. Coach Lilac said Chris has built a good program. He has mentored modified wrestling coach Landon Nelson, and he believes Landon, who is young and energetic, is a good man to replace Marsh. Nelson, however, commented he had some big shoes to fill. Marsh said he will continue to help out the team on a volunteer basis.
