Inez Scaglione

July 16, 2010 By eastwickpress

Buskirk – Inez (Lockrow) Scaglione, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 23, 1924, in Cambridge, NY. Inez was the daughter of the late Mary Mears and Myron Lockrow.  Inez grew up on the Lockrow family farm on Oak Hill Road in Cambridge, and she loved to drive by and reminisce about her childhood days.
Inez graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1942 and, following graduation, worked in the Rice Seed Co. in Cambridge. She married her late husband Frank J. Scaglione on June 18, 1944.  Inez and Frank purchased their dairy farm on King Road in Buskirk, NY, in 1945, and they operated the farm for over 40 years.  Inez was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Cambridge, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and belonged to the Home Bureau.
Inez was a loving and compassionate wife and mother; family was always first for her.  Those who knew Inez will remember her unflagging care for her husband Frank during the years of his illness.  She had a wonderful smile and laugh and was very young at heart.  Inez will be greatly missed by her family.  In addition to her husband and parents, Inez was pre-deceased by her brothers, Raymond Lockrow and Herman Lockrow, her daughter, Carol M. Walter, and her infant son, Frank Thomas Scaglione.  Survivors include her sons, Joe Scaglione of Cohoes, NY, and Jim Scaglione (Geoff Morse) of East Greenbush, NY,  son-in-law, Marty Walter of Buskirk, sister, Alyce Jeskie of Cambridge, sisters-in-law, Frances Scaglione of Hoosick Falls, NY, and Clara Cipollari of East Greenbush, NY, cousins, Dorothy Joubert of Schenectady, NY, and Betty Carey of Buskirk, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a calling hour at St. Patrick’s Church on S. Park Street in Cambridge on Thursday July 15 at 10 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am from the church.  Burial followed the Mass at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Cambridge. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation, Inc., 7151 N. Main St., Suite 2, Clarkston,  MI,  48346.
