Jeannette Ward

Hoosick Falls – Jeannette “Jean” Ward, 89, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where she had resided since July of 2009. Jean formerly resided at the Wood Park Apartments in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Richard “Dick” Ward, who died in 1983.
Born April 6, 1921, in Quakertown, PA, Jean was the daughter of the late William and Mable (Strouse) Schissler. She attended school in Quakertown. Jean worked for the Albany Felt Company in Hoosick Falls until retiring in 1983. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hoosick Falls and a former member of the Elks Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the Kings Daughters.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Lindstead, her companion, Carl Risch of Ballston Lake, NY, a brother, Melvin Schissler of Pennsylvania, a stepdaughter, Constance Haines and husband Edward of New Hampshire, and a niece, Karen Goyla and husband Michael. She is pre-deceased by a brother, William Schissler.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
