A fire broke out slightly after 9 pm just off NY Rt. 2 on Yerdon Road, a dead end road in Grafton. The call came from a neighbor on the next road stating that they could see a fully involved house fire and were not sure if the occupants were home.

The Grafton Fire Department and their ambulance were dispatched and when the ambulance arrived on the scene they reported a heavy smoke condition, a house fully involved in flames and wires arcing on the ground due to the fact that they were burnt off the house. Crews from Petersburgh, Berlin, Eagle Mills and Center Brunswick also responded and when water reached the hot and heavy blaze the fire was knocked down in about 25 minutes. Investigators were on the scene late and were again back on the scene early Monday, morning, July 5.
