Viola Brownell

Hoosick – Viola (Brenenstuhl) Brownell, 93, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where she had resided since April. She was the wife of the late Paul C. Brownell, who died on August 7, 2009. They formerly resided in Cambridge, NY.
Born on May 17, 1917, in Pittstown, NY, Viola was the daughter of the late Martin and Carrie Brenenstuhl. She attended school in Boyntonville, NY. She was a homemaker and also helped on the family farm in Pittstown. Viola was a member of the Johnsonville Methodist Church and the Cambridge Senior Citizens. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting and gardening.
Survivors include her son, Earl Brownell of Johnsonville, NY, grandchildren, Megan Luskin and husband Benjamin of Johnsonville, Keith Bochette and wife Debbie, Michele Marcil and husband Jeff, all of Saratoga, NY, and Kimberly Brace and husband Chuck of Arizona, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by a son, John Paul Brownell, a sister and five brothers.
Graveside services were Wednesday, June 30, at 11 am at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls, NY. There were no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, who are handling the arrangements.
