Walter A. Wood Alumni Reunion

Nearly 200 Alumni and guests attended the 2010 annual Walter A. Wood High School (Hoosick Falls) Alumni Reunion on Saturday, June 12, at the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corp.  Co-chairperson Janice Tate welcomed the group and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Charles Mason of the Class of 1955 delivered the invocation.
Following dinner, Ronald Seifert, Master of Ceremonies, introduced Edward Loomis, Jr., who then announced members of the 50-year class of 1960, who were invited this year for the first time.  Attending were Paul Bachorz, Roger Corbett, David Cornell, LeRoy Gardner, Patricia Griswold Heise, John Kasavicha, Ronald Liporace, Edward Loomis, Jr., Sandra Marshall Phelps, Susan Marshall Lohnes, Audrey Moon Bartus, Pamela Niegoda Dunigan, Linda Pandell Cornell,  Barbara Pytko Hackett, Patricia Sheffer Niles, Robert Strait, Maureen Unavich Burke and Fred Whittet.
Members of the 60-year Class of 1950 were introduced by Albert Goodwin. They are  Judith Bullock Lott, Theresa Bruns Pratt, Joan Eddy Gardner, Kenneth Fleming, Albert Goodwin, Jr., James Hunt, Mabel LeBarron Schillaci, Paul Quigley and William Sargood.
From the 70-year Class of 1940 attending were Charles Eddy, Gordon McNeilly, William Nugent, Jr., Mary Rathbun Kolb and Mary Wells Cipperly.
The oldest attending were Margaret Howard Perry, Class of 1931, and William Andrick, Class of 1933.  Gifts were presented to Margaret Perry, William Andrick, Frank Pierce, Anna Ward and Harold Wiley, and also to those who traveled the farthest – Robert Strait, from No. Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mildred Brimmer Lapp, from Northport, FL.
Thanks were given to Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corp. for the dinner,  to Charlotte Redden for the flowers for centerpieces, to Charles Filkins and Philip Leonard for the programs, to Helen Filkins, name tags, to Marge George for the mailing of invitations and favors, to Betty Kipp, gifts, to Norma Brenenstuhl, for updating the school scrapbooks, to Janice Tate, reservations and to Ron Seifert for acting as Master of Ceremonies.  The Committee consists of Marge George, Betty Kipp, Janice Tate, Ron and Joyce Seifert, Helen Filkins and Doug Sherman.
Voluntary gifts this year were given to the Hoosick Area Youth Center and Community Coalition.  (HAY3C).
