Where Does Your Food Come From?

July 23, 2010 By eastwickpress

Now you can find out, courtesy of the Bar None Ranch in Berlin. They raise pastured chicken and lamb, without antibiotics and growth hormones. Their chickens are fed grass and locally grown grain. They are coming to the Brunswick Community Library, on Route 2, on Saturday, July 31, at 11 am for a special Chicken Storytime.
You can pre-order chickens from Bar None Ranch at the Library now and pick them up on the 31st of July. Payment is due on delivery. They are sold by the chicken and priced by the pound. The more chickens you buy, the lower the price per pound: 1-4 birds = $4 per lb.; 5-11 birds = $3.75 per lb.; 12+ birds = $3.50 per lb. The chickens are between 3-7 lbs. each. Fill your freezer!
The last day for pre-order is Friday, July 24. Supplies are limited. For more information, call the Library, at 279-4023. Order forms are at the Circulation Desk. A portion of all sales will go to the Library.
