On Saturday, August 21, rain or shine, at Southern Vermont College in Bennington, the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA) and Heliocentrix will present the Sixth Hoosic River Ride, a benefit cycling event that seeks to raise awareness about the river and its recreational attributes while raising funds to support the education, research and advocacy programs of HooRWA.
There will be four route options of 28, 50 and 75 miles with an 8 mile route appropriate for families. This non-competitive event encourages riders to take in the beautiful scenery of the watershed while providing aid stations, well marked routes and a wonderful picnic afterwards. Cyclists can even visit the top of the Bennington Monument during their tour.
For details on the routes, fees and pricing, please visit www.hoorwa.org or call Lisa Carey Moore at 413-281-0661. Early registration and group discounts available.
