Edward W. Simmons, Sr.

Stephentown – Edward W. Simmons, Sr. of Barbara Way, Stephentown, NY, died on Tuesday, August 9, 2010, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, after being stricken at his residence.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, on April 29, 1947, he was a resident of Stephentown for over 35 years. He was the owner/operator of Simmon’s Carpentry in Stephentown for most of his adult life. He loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Donovan, his children Edward W. Simmons, Jr. of Stephentown, Timothy P. Simmons of Gansevoort, Richard J. Simmons of Stephentown and Connie A. Crandall of Mechanicville, his siblings, Lester Simmons of Lenox, MA, Joan Drumm of Lee, MA, and Ann Simmons of Pittsfield, MA, 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, George Simmons.
Funeral services are on Thursday at 2 pm in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, with Rev. Trygve Tomlinson officiating. Burial follows in the Stephentown Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Thursday for visitation from noon until the start of the service.
