Once again Homewaters Trout Unlimited Chapter #586 is sponsoring a class at Hudson Valley Community College for the Fall semester. The course is called Fly-Tying: Learn-2-Tie. Course participants will learn basic entomology, the identification of aquatic and terrestrial insects and their life cycles. Students will apply that knowledge, along with basic and advanced fly-tying techniques, to create life like insect patterns for fly-fishing.
Interactive “how to” videos and guest speakers will intersperse all lecture sessions. All course materials are provided along with free use of fly-tying tools, vises and materials. This course is open to individuals age 14 and up and consists of ten sessions on Tuesdays from October 5 to December 14 (no class November 23), 6 to 8:30 pm.
The course fee is $65. There must be a minimum of 10 students, with a maximum of 15.
