Hoosick Grange had a meeting on July 28 with Master David Cornell. Under new business, David told us that the heating plan and oil plan that we voted on was completed. He also discussed the fair booth. The Lecturer said she would tell more about it during the Lecturer’s program. Norma Brenenstuhl told about the Grangers that were remembered since the last meeting. The Secretary, Elsie Marpe, read about the Rensselaer County Pomona Grange meeting. It was on August 4 at Center Brunswick with a covered dish supper at 7 pm.
The Yeast Cinnamon Roll Contest was held with three entries. Corinne Philpott was first and Martha Babbitt was second. The winner had to make the rolls for the County Grange on August 4.
The Lecturer’s program was on previous fair booth pictures. She showed pictures of fair booths since 1995. She also had pictures of the Rensselaer County Picnics. Then she talked on what they needed for the coming fair booth. Grangers told what they could bring for the booth. In between showing pictures, the Lecturer read a funny letter to an Insurance Company on an accident that was caused by poor planning.
Our next meeting was on August 11. It was Booster Night and Hot Dog Roast Night with a covered dish supper, at 7 pm. It was an open meeting – family and guests were invited. We played Bingo with prizes. The Grangers brought some wrapped prizes.
Mary Cipperly was in charge of refreshments for the meeting. She had assorted pies and drinks.
