News
Dyken Pond staff were excited to find a wood turtle this summer.

This black bear was seen drinking birdbath water at the Dyken Center this spring. Photo courtesy of the Friends of Dyken Pond.

Wood turtles are semi-aquatic, meaning they are happy either on land or in water. They eat a variety of food including plants, snails and slugs. Wood turtles are very calm. We had a great time observing our friend before he went on his turtle way!
Flowers in Bloom – jewelweed, black-eyed Susan, tansy, thistle, Queen Anne’s lace, day lily.
Berries in Season – blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, choke cherries.
