Veterans Of Stephentown Trip

August 27, 2010 By eastwickpress

The Veterans of Stephentown are going on another trip. This year, they will be going to West Point and the Purple Heart Hall of Honor. This trip will be on Tuesday, September 14, and is available to members of the Veteran group and one guest of their choice.
The Vets will be leaving the Veterans Memorial Park at 7:45 am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so everyone can get on board and leave on time. There will be a rest stop on the ride in the morning. We will then take a bus tour of West Point. We will stop at certain historical landmarks, and you will be allowed to get off the bus to look around. This will take approximately 90 minutes. We will then go to lunch at the Schades Restaurant. After lunch, we will have a short ride to the Purple Heart Hall of Honor Museum in Newburgh, NY, where we will spend approximately one hour. Everyone will be on their own at the Museum. On the way home there will be a stop, and you will be responsible for your own dinner. We should be back in Stephentown around 6:30 pm.
There are three choices for lunch – fried catfish w/French fries, chicken Parmesan with spaghetti or meat loaf with mashed potatoes. All lunches include salad, roll, ice cream and beverage.
If you have any dietary concerns or need something other than what is offered, please contact Phyllis DeFreest.
The price for the trip will be $35 per person. This includes everything except the two rest stops during travel. Payment is due no later than September 1. To make your reservations, please call Phyllis at 733-6504 to get your name on the list. If you get the answering machine, please leave your name, phone number and number of people that will be attending, as well as your lunch choice(s).
We are looking forward to another wonderful Veterans trip and hope that many of you will be able to attend.
Send your payment to Veterans of Stephentown, Attn: West Point Trip, P.O. Box 613, Stephentown, NY, 12168.
