Emma A. Cahill

Berlin – Emma A. Cahill, 89, of Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield, MA, former longtime resident of Berlin, NY, died on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, after a long illness. Born and educated in Berlin, Emma was the daughter of the late Frank and Annie Boccia Angelo, wife of the late Earl A. Cahill and mother of the late Lorraine Shier, whom Emma missed dearly.
Emma had been an inspector for General Cable in Pownal, VT, from 1962 to 1986 and then had been an assembler at JARDS before retiring in 1988. She had also worked at the Ranch Tavern and the Shirt Shop in Berlin. Emma was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Berlin.
Survivors include her beloved and devoted grandchildren, Robert C. Shier, Michele and her husband Glenn Wilson, William Shier and his wife Susan and Melissa and her husband Eric Moore, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a Graveside Service on Wednesday, September 22, at 2 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery in Berlin.
Arrangements are by the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, Averill Park, NY.
