17-Friday, Star Watch at 7:30 pm at Main Lot.  Enjoy a guided tour of the night sky with Albany Area Astronomers Association. Telescopes provided. Rain date: Saturday, 9/18.
18–Saturday, American Littoral Society Shoreline Cleanup at 10 am. Join thousands of people around the world all cleaning up freshwater and marine shorelines.  Pre-registration requested.
18-Saturday, Empire Orienteering Meet at 10 am. Courses for all levels of experience. Compete on your own or with a group. For more information, contact Pat Dunlavey of Empire Orienteering Club at 413)458-9273.
26-Sunday, Grafton Lakes Fall Fun Day from 11 am to 3 pm.  Enjoy the fall colors and get active in the outdoors! Kayak demo, face painting,  family nature journaling program, guided hike and bike rides and more.  Call 279-1155 for more information.
26-Sunday, Annual Barge Chaser Canoe & Kayak Race at Grafton Lakes State Park.  2.5 mile spring and 7 mile portage paddle.  Registration opens at 9:30 am.  Race begins at 10:30 am. Only $2/participant. Potluck after race.  Contact Northern NY Paddlers at 489-5092.
