A Home Made Wine Workshop fund-raiser will be held on Friday, October 8, at 7 pm at the Berlin Fire House. A $20 donation is suggested.
Wine is easy to make. It has been fermented for thousands of years and can be made from a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.
The workshop will cover the basics of making wine at home including equipment, ingredients, procedures and bottling.
Mark Plaat, from Hennessy Homebrew Emporium, will lead the workshop. He will demonstrate how easy it is to make your own wine at home. If you can make soup, you can make wine!
Since being bought in 1997 by three partners, Homebrew Emporium has expanded to three stores, one in Rensselaer on Route 4, one near Worcester, MA, and one in Cambridge, MA. Homebrew Emporium is now one of the largest homebrew supply stores in the US. The company provides equipment and supplies to make beer and wine as well as cheese, vinegar and soda.
