Local Politicians Are Smoothie Contest Winners

September 10, 2010 By eastwickpress

The District 5 Blenders team, Rensselaer  County Legislature Vice Chairman Stan Brownell and Town of Hoosick Supervisor Keith Cipperly, won the 2010 Udderly Delicious Smoothie Contest sponsored by the Rensselaer County Dairy Princess, Leah Remington, and Committee. Other teams were Senator and Mrs. Roy McDonald, County Executive Kathy Jimino and Sheriff Mahar and Assemblyman Tony Jordon and Yolanda Vega. The teams were given 12 minutes to prepare a smoothie using ingredients of their choice and one secret ingredient provided by the Dairy Princess. Upon completion their recipe had to be provided and the final product tasted by the judges. The winning smoothie was named “Fair Times” and,, as promised to several audience members the formerly secret recipe is:

½ blender of ice
3½ cups of milk
1 banana
1 cup of sugar
1 can of apricot halves
8 strawberries
½ cup of blueberries
A fun time was had by all, and Stan and Keith were invited back to defend their title next year.  The Dairy Princess wants everyone to remember “Three A Day Dairy.”   Many thanks to Leah Remington for doing such a wonderful job as our 2010 Rensselaer County Dairy Princess.
