New Pastor For Methodist Church

September 3, 2010 By eastwickpress

The Berlin and Grafton United Methodist Church is pleased to welcome Pastor Joy Lowenthal as its part time permanent pastor. The appointment was made by Bishop Susan Hassinger of the Troy Conference.  Pastor Lowenthal replaces Pastor Kim Kie who has left to pursue her Masters of Divinity Degree at Boston University.
Pastor Lowenthal has many years experience as a pastor as well a teacher and counselor, most recently as pastor of Waterbury Vermont’s United Methodist Church.  She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and SUNY Plattsburgh with a MA in Ed CET in school counseling and Wesley Seminary in the Course of Study program.  She resides with her family in East Greenbush.
Not a stranger to Berlin, Pastor Lowenthal was a nursery school teacher for a parent-run nursery and a Headstart home visitor in Berlin in the late 1970s.
Pastor Lowenthal will lead worship at the Berlin Grafton United Methodist Church in Berlin on Sunday, September 5, at 11 am.  All are welcome.
