The Founding Families Of Berlin And Petersburgh

Sharon Klein and Carol Alderman will give a presentation on the founding families of Berlin and Petersburgh at the September meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society. The meeting will be held at the United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Berlin, on Monday, September 20, at 7:30 pm. There will be refreshments and a social time following the program. Everyone is welcome.
This meeting is in preparation for a bus trip to Westerly, Rhode Island, where we will visit the community where the Berlin and Petersburgh founding families came from. The bus will leave Berlin on Saturday, October 23, at 7 am. The trip includes a tour of the First Hopkinton Cemetery where many of the families are buried, a history of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Ashaway, RI, and admission to the Babcock-Smith House in Westerly.
