Two Day Hike Across The Rensselaer Plateau

Are you feeling adventurous for a two day, 25 mile hike? If so, hikers will meet at the Dyken Pond Center at 8 am on Saturday, September 25, where they will be transported to the starting point in Pittstown State Forest. Saturday’s hike will cover 10 miles and will end at Dyken Pond Center. Hikers will be treated to a BBQ dinner and can camp the night at the Center.
Hikers will awaken on Sunday morning to a complimentary breakfast and then continue hiking 15 miles to Stephentown where transportation will be provided returning once again to the Dyken Pond Center.
This hike is free of charge and is for an advanced hiker. Pre-registration is required, and the hike is limited to 20 people. Contact Jim Bonesteel to register at jim@bonesteel.com or 794-9160. Detailed information will be given upon registration.  Children of parents wishing to participate can attend the Weekend Fall Nature Camp at Dyken Pond for a fee of $40 per day.
Fall Weekend Nature Camp
There will be a fall weekend, nature, day camp on September 25 and 26 for kids ages pre-school through teens. Spend the day hiking, exploring, building a campfire and spending time with other kids who enjoy the outdoors. Stay for a half day, the entire day or both days. Pre-registration is required. Call for more details. Registration for a full day costs $40.
