At the Hoosick Falls Village Board meeting on Tuesday, September 14, the Board discussed how to pay off the interest free loan for the new Water system. Mayor Monahan said they had several options including splitting payments evenly over 30 years or starting with smaller payments and increasing them as the years go by. Trustee Paul Haynes suggested the Village pay $260,000 a year, flat rate for 20 years. By that time the sewer interest free loan will be paid off and the Village will better be able to pay off the water loan at $340,000 a year for 10 years. The Board endorsed this plan, pending approval by the loan agency.
