On Saturday, September 18, the Volkssporting Club of the Capital District of NYS enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning with perfect walking temperatures to walk either five or ten kilometers through the Village of Hoosick Falls. Fifty-one people, mostly from the Capital District, plus two from West Point and two from Vermont, walked in groups to the grave of Grandma Moses in Maple Grove Cemetery, past the Octagon House on River St. to Waterworks Road and onto the River Walk returning to River St., then winding back and forth along Village streets to the Mechanic St. bridge, onto John St. past where the Grandma Moses paintings were discovered, past the mural on Classic St., up to Snow St., down Wilder to Eberly Way to Main St. and back to the starting point at the Ken Baker Sports Complex on Barton Ave.
Many of the walkers had never been to Hoosick Falls and thoroughly enjoyed their foray through the Village.
