Berlin/Petersburgh – Brian K. “House” DeGiorgio, 33, (aka Soprano) of Stanley Street, Schenectady, NY, died on Thursday evening, October 7, 2010, at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, NY, on February 14, 1977, Brian was a 1995 graduate of Berlin Central High School. He worked for over seven years at Hilltown Pork, Inc. in Canaan, NY, drove truck for Schwan’s for three years and was very proud to receive his HAZMAT endorsement on his license to work for the Miller Environmental Group in Selkirk, NY, as a driver. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan, loved to play basketball and enjoyed cooking on the grill. Brian’s greatest love was that of his children.
Survivors include his wife, Daphne Mohammed-DeGiorgio, his father, Brian P. DeGiorgio of Cohoes, NY, his mother and step-father, Mary L. and David Young of Johnsonville, NY, his children, Anna-Faith, Brian Wesley, Elizabeth G. and Kasey Allen DeGiorgio and Brian Jr. and David Doohan, his siblings, Scott A. and wife Anna DeGiorgio of Berlin, NY, Emily L. and Jeremiah T. DeGiorgio both of Cohoes, David R. and wife Jaime Young Jr. of Wynantskill, NY, and Keith P. and wife Dawn Young of Johnsonville, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Brian’s life was held on Monday, October 11, at 7 pm in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, where Rev. John Koletas of Grace Baptist Church in Troy officiated. Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home for visitation on Monday from 5 to 7 pm.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday at 11 am in the Eagle Mills Cemetery, Garfield Road, Eagle Mills, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 272, Petersburgh, NY, 12138.
