Dyken Pond October Programs

October 9 –  Junior Naturalist: BATS!  For kids ages 2 – 10. Learn about these amazing animals and why they are so important; $3 per child or $6 per family.
October 10 –  Fall Foliage Hike for all ages; a leisurely hike on Center trails; 1 to 3 pm; free.
October 10 – Capture the Flag;  A stealth version of the popular game. We play over a large forested playing field where the goal is to capture the opposing team’s flag using camouflage, stealth and navigation. No prior skills are necessary to play; 10 am to 3:30 pm. This game is for ages 10 and up, younger kids can play with a parent and adults are more than welcome, too!  Bring a lunch and water for the day; $10.
October 15 – Last day to order bird seed.
October 16 – bird seed pick-up day at Capital Agway in Brunswick; 9 am to 12 pm.
October 17 –  Fall Foliage Hike for all ages; leisurely hike on Center trails; 1to 3 pm; free.
October 30 –  Map and Compass;  the basics of reading topographical maps and using compass to navigate your way off trail. Basic skills will be covered that are useful even if you are using a GPS;  10 am to 2 pm; $10 or $8 for members. Pre-registration is required.
