Joseph F. Brandalik

Hoosick Falls – Joseph F. Brandalik, 80, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at his residence on Jackson Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Joe was the husband of the late Gloria (Woodcock) Brandalik, who died in 1987.
Born on May 24, 1930, in Hoosick Falls, Joe was the son of the late Jacob and Dorothy (Gorman) Brandalik. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls. He was employed at the former Wood Flong Company in Hoosick Falls until his retirement. Joe enjoyed golfing, playing cards, bowling and was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. He was a gold member of St. Stanislaw Society and former member of Elks Lodge # 178. Joe enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Thomas “Jake” Brandalik and wife Maxine of Hoosick Falls, Lynn Hoyt and husband Steve of Bennington, VT, Diane Conway and husband Vincent of Hoosick Falls, his sisters, Barbara Maleady and husband Ed and Mary Jane Wysocki and husband Thomas, all of Hoosick Falls, and Catherine Keating of North Adams, MA, his six grandchildren and his seven great-grandchildren. Joe is pre-deceased by two children, Susan Frazier and Edward Brandalik.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 2, at 9:15 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either the E.C. Youth Trust Fund or the Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
