Kenneth E. Risedorf

Grafton – Kenneth E. Risedorf, 89, a resident of Route 2, Grafton, NY, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, VT.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 28, 1921, he was the son of the late Theodore Edward and Anna (Muhleisen) Risedorf. He received his education in the West Orange and Newark, New Jersey area.
Ken married the former Elsie Johanson in Maryland in 1946.
A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he served with the First and Seventh Emergency Rescue Squadron from September, 1942, through December, 1945.
In earlier years Ken owned and operated a service station in northern New Jersey. He later was employed as a mechanic at various Sears Auto stores in the same area.
Following retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Risedorf moved to Grafton where they ran the Grafton Inn and operated a bed and breakfast business.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Risedorf of Grafton, two daughters, Susan Harris of Petersburgh, NY, and Holly Gafner of Sunny Vale, TX, a son, Kenneth E. Risedorf Jr. of Mesquite, TX, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Norman and Donald Risedorf of Inverness, FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Risedorf is pre-deceased by a sister, Althea Risedorf, and a brother, Wilber Risedorf.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions in memory of Kenneth E. Risedorf may be made to the Vermont Veterans Home through the office of the Mahar &
Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT, 05201.
