Laura Mae Roberto

Hoosick Falls – Laura Mae (Benware) Roberto, 84, died Sunday, October 10, 2010, at St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, NY. She married Joseph P. Roberto on July 18, 1953, and remained married until his death on April 16, 2000.
Born in Malone, NY, on March 25, 1926, Laura was the daughter of Mitchell and Emma (Bruno) Benware.
Surviving her are three sons and three daughters-in-law, Roger and Jane Robinson of Upton, MA, Joseph and Mary Roberto of Mendon, MA, and James and Deborah Roberto of North Bangor, NY, two sisters, Elizabeth Benware of Malone and Harriet Philpot of Bennington, VT. She also left seven grandchildren, Sarah, Robert, Tonya, Lisa, Ken, Joey and Jesse, and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband Joseph, Laura is pre-deceased by her only daughter, Carol Ann Roberto, three brothers, John, Charles and Horace Benware, and two sisters, Blanche Beach and Mildred Forrest.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on October 14 at St. Mary’s Church in Brushton, NY. Rev. Christopher Looby officiated the service. A graveside committal service for Laura Mae Roberto will be offered on Saturday October 30, at 10 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls, NY. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls.
