Friday, October 15 – Family Movie Night, at 6:30 pm, a free showing of a current film suitable for the whole family. Call for title. Popcorn will be provided.
Saturday, October 16 – Chess Instruction For Kids at 10 am. Players at all ages and levels are welcome.
Thursday, October 21 – Book Discussion And Signing at 7 pm. Author Ed Maurer discusses his book Survive & Escape: One Family Chooses Life, an account of one family’s survival and escape from fascist Europe. Open discussion, book signing and light refreshments follow.
Saturday, October 23 – Paws To Read at 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the Library, and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Advance registration is preferred; call 518-794-8844.
Thursday, October 28 – Family Crafts Night at 6 pm. Make an adorable corn husk doll to play with or use as a seasonal fall decoration. This activity is for ages five and up, although younger siblings are welcome.
Friday, October 29 – Halloween Film Fright Fest from 6 to 11 pm. Suitable for all ages, but the films get scarier as the night goes on, so come for them all or hold out for our scariest film. The films begin at 6, 7 and 9 pm. Call for titles. Seasonal snacks will be provided.
Thursday, November 4 – Owls: Silent Predators Of The Night at 2 pm. Jenny Brinker from the Columbia Land Conservancy discusses the incredible adaptations owls have made in order to survive and thrive in a world of darkness. Discover what and how owls eat and examine the contents of an owl pellet. Advance registration is preferred; call 518-794-8844.
Friday, November 5 – Birds For Books at 2 pm. Schuyler and Colby Gail from the Bar None Ranch discuss farming, chickens and locally produced food.
Friday, November 5 – Coffeehouse Night at 6 pm will feature the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
